Join our Association for Coaching Recognised ‘Leader as Coach’ programme to learn core leadership and coaching skills to enable you to become an awesome workplace supervisor, manager or leader.  This programme is held online over four workshops via Zoom with the added bonus of having lifetime access to additional learning content via our Leaders Hub Portal filled with downloadable toolkits, workbooks, and resources.

The course is great for aspiring, new and/or existing workplace leaders, managers and supervisors wanting to complete a blended leadership and coaching qualification and it is also great for independent consultants and other types of coaches wanting to learn about coaching and leadership in the corporate workplace.

The Programme

The aim of Association for Coaching Recognised Leader as Coach programme is to award recognition of training specifically aimed at equipping consultants, organisational leaders, managers and supervisors with the tools to adopt a coaching approach in the corporate workspace.

This programme will help create awareness of the value of developing a coaching culture in organisations by enabling you as a consultant, leader or manager to develop skills in leadership and coaching practice.

Coaching skills form a valuable part of a repertoire of leadership and management tools and techniques, aiding self management, staff empowerment and development and effective working with diverse teams and individuals. A coaching approach can enhance performance, improve working relationships and develop communication skills for the benefit of the whole organisation.

What is a Leader as Coach?

According to the seminal Leader as Coach article in Harvard Business Review published in 2019 written by Herminia Ibarra and Anne Scoular, in the face of rapid, disruptive change, companies are realising that managers can’t be expected to have all the answers and that command-and-control leadership is no longer viable. As a result, many firms are moving toward a coaching model in which managers facilitate problem-solving and encourage employees’ development by asking questions and offering support and guidance rather than giving orders and making judgments.

Companies are moving away from traditional command-and-control practices and toward something very different: a model in which managers give support and guidance rather than instructions, and employees learn how to adapt to constantly changing environments in ways that unleash fresh energy, innovation, and commitment.

The role of the manager, in short, is becoming that of a coach.

What resource access will I need for the award?

You are not required to have access to any particular resource when you join our Leader as Coach Award programme because it is crafted to give you the tools and skills to Develop, eNgage and Apply our models and teachings directly into your business.

Will I need to write academic essays?

No, this is a practical course where you’ll be taught online with coached tutorial sessions, workbooks, downloadable toolkits and where resources are provided.  You will be assessed through observation of coaching practice and supervision.  You will be expected to document in written form your coaching approach and style and document your coaching and learning hours. 

In addition, how do I gain personal Accreditation through the Association for Coaching after completing this qualification?

You can complete the workshops and gain your Association for Coaching Recognised Award qualification.  However, in addition, if you would like to gain personal membership and coach accreditation through the AC we can support you with that as we are an accelerated pathways provider.  There would be an additional fee payable to the Association for Coaching for this.  Book in some time with us to discuss via www.dnacoach.co.uk/cuppa
